OBAMA of AFRICA wines come from the upcoming wine region Swartland in the Western Cape of South Africa. Swartland region is becoming world famous because of the bush vines which are grown here. Bush vines are mostly non irrigated vines that produce low yielding wines with great concentration and aromatic complexity.

OBAMA stands for "not in straight line" in the African Luo language. For us this means that we adapt our vineyard and wine cellar work to the changing elements of mother nature.

OBAMA is the nick name of our assistant cellar master at Swartland winery.

OBAMA is also the Luo family name of an inspiring world leader with his roots in Africa.
